Yay, a new picture already! I'm really happy with this one, I'll probably do more of this burlesque theme, the ornaments and the glitter are just to much fun!

I love THE GOSSIP

I recently stumbled over this band and instantly fell in love with it. Their music is amazingly energetic and Beth Ditto's voice is to die for. Whats also great about them, is that they are able to have a political message and are still totally fun.
I made a totally different version of this pic, but threw it away, because it just didn't have enough energy - actually it was really kind of lame, so I threw it away when I was almost finished and started all over. This time, I thought about the composition first, something I hadn't done in the first version, and something that I have missed doing to many times in the past. below the picture you can see my sketches. :)

I lvoe liquorice

I always find it hard to come up with a new topic for a drawing, sadly I seem to need one or the drawing doesn't get good. So one time I thought of this "I love ..." theme which made it a little easier. So with this one I confess, that I'm totally addicted to liquorice. My boyfriend hates it though, so I dont eat it that often, because otherwise he wont let me kiss him.

nudes nudes nudes

Some latest stuff from my sketchbook. I'm trying to experiment with different techniques so that I get to know the tools better by playing arround. I think nudes are great for that because on the one hand you get to know anatomy better and on the other hand I feel that creativity can be challenged if you have to work in certain limits, in this case: You try out whatever you want, as long as it somehow looks like a human body.

refferences are from these amazing photographers who are so nice to share their work on deviantart:

studies again

I'm working on a commission right now where I'm doing vector illustrations for a book, so for fun and relaxation I'm doing thes pencil studies. Like in the last post the amazing references came from: http://josemanchado.deviantart.com/ and http://mjranum-stock.deviantart.com/

more studies

I try to do pencil studies of nude photos a little more often lately, because I figured not only does it help me to understand the human body and also lightning and shading better, but it also helps me to have more and more control over my pencil, and improves the intuition.

Hot and Cold

Here is a little something I did for the drawing jam over at the drawingboard

My first sketchy attempt:

the final piece:

I just totally love what you can do with illustrator: pattern brushes, opacity masks, blend modes, its just an amazing programm.
I started with this sketch:

I decided instead of whining about it I'd rather embrace the cold weather:

geisha in the sky with noodles

I dug out another file out of my archive of unfinished stuff. This was actually the first thing I tried out with illustrator, it turned out, this was way to ambitious for a first try. But I like how it turned out:

New girls!

I'm always trying out new styles, some of these experiments work out, others dont, I'm pretty happy with these though.
This was inspired by a good friend of mine, which is indeed a bookworm with style. I used to do latin translations with her, which was always fun, because we were both eager to find the really truelly correct translations. She is actually a red head, this was inspired more by her character.
Photoshop on a pencil sketch:

This one was actually waiting to be finished for half a year, it had awful colors but now I changed them and am quite happy with them.

she-faunus

I was playing aurond with vectors in Photoshop, which can be a lot of fun. I like how you can combine the intuitiveness of Photoshop-brushes and the exacteness of vectorshapess. This is what came out, I might actually do more in that style:

You can't manufacture Inspirado

I always find it hard to get inspired for a new picture. But I find it easier to doodle, so I always doodle hoping to get new ideas for pictures. Sometimes I work with photos (deviantart has an amazing photo-gallery) and fashion magazines, sometimes I just try to put down the stuff that comes to my mind.

The first three were done with photoref:

And these came strait from my head:

Hello World!

Finally I decided to get my own blog. For a little introduction I thought I'd post some stuff I find representative. I've always loved vector art, for the clearness of the shapes, so here is some of my vector stuff.

I'm not the kind of artist that focuses to much on a special style, because I feel there is so many other interesting stuff to explore. So there will be more and different stuff soon.
