Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2010

I just love the minimal color palette and the illustrated prints of Zac Posen "Alice in Wonderland"- inspired Pre-Fall collection.

Here's the sketch. Initially I wanted to draw 3 models but it didnt really work out in the finished piece.

I ♥ Bryanboy!

Bryanboy probably needs no introduction.
I admire his unique style and his humor. His blog is a great source of inspiration for me.
i did this after a photo of him, I just love the shapes and angles in it.

and the right answer was: Yves Saint Laurent!

Yes, it was Yves Saint Laurent Spring 2010 rtw! I thought I was being too obvious because I drew the poses after the letters YSL, but apparently it was still hard to guess.
And the winner of the sketch-give-away is: Rita Steckler! Applause!!!!

I thought this was really fun, I definitely will do another give-away quiz soon!!

UPDATE: The answer has been revealed!

Stella McCartney Spring 2010 rtw

Stella McCartney owns a special place in my heart, her clothes are vegan and absolutely beautiful!! her current collection features amazing ruffle designs, I highly recommend you watch the video they are even more breathtaking when they move!

And I love the shoes, a bit ironic with the Birkenstock-style but really really cool:

Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2010 ready to wear

This collection was so dramatic! I loved all the lace and black and white and red color combinations! I really liked the contrast between the menswear inspired suits and the very feminine designs. Thats why I chose two outfits instead of just one:

Moschino Cheap & chic Spring ready to wear 2010

Moschino Cheap & chic Spring ready to wear 2010 - what a great collection! I love the 60s and this show was ripe with amazing mod and flower children style. And all the hot pink - so pretty!
I always wonder how they came up with that name though "cheap & chic" is that some weird sense of fashion humor, because I dont find them especially cheap.

You can find the collection at style.com.

Boylesque

This is the first pic I made in a little drawing challenge with my friend Regina.
Every two weeks one of us sets a difficult topic: something we both think would be hard to draw, or struggle with, or usually shy away from.
Regina got to pick the first topic and chose "Boylesque" because, well drawing a sexy guy dancing and stripping can be quite challenging. I have always been insecure whenever it came to drawing good looking guys even though I am quite sure I am heterosexual. ;)
This one has a major Hirschfeld influence, because I love the way he draws dancers.

John Galliano Spring 2010 RTW

There are no words how much I adore John Galliano's Spring 2010 RTW collection... so I made a picture! :)
This is the outfit I picked for my interpretation - if I had enough money I'd totally wear the those shoes:

Bobblehead Beyonce

Nothing much to say this time, just wanted to try the Bobblehead-caricature style. ;)
I don't listen to her music (just not my cup of tea) but I think she is a great artist, seems to be a very nice person and is absolutely gorgeous.

Sybille der Berliner Groschenroman

These are two illustrations I did for the satirical episode web romance novel "Sybille der Berliner Groschenroman" - "Sybille the Berlin dime novel". The story is about a young girl who moved to Berlin from the western part of Germany and who wants to be part of the hip crowd really bad. It is a bit funny and a bit melancholic, if you understand German you can read it here. The text is written from her perspective but in third person, so there is a certain feel of distance and intimacy at the same time. I thought, this over the shoulder view would be good to reflect this feeling.

Angela Merkel Yeaahh!

I hope my German readers wont hate me too much for jumping on the bandwagon like this. I woke up this morning and had this image in my head, and just had to draw it. This is one of the rare times the image in my head looks exactly like the outcome. So I am proud of this caricature, even though it features an extremely overused joke.

The "joke" in this picture is hard to understand if you are not German. it is a combination of this election poster:

and a photo that was a huge hype in the German internet last week:

The poster says: "the chancellor is coming" and someone scribbled: "and everybody's like: 'Yeah!!!'" on it. I cannot explain to you, what is so funny about that, but I thought it was hilarious - so did almost everybody else, there has already been a flashmob and a song with it.
